Dear John,

I would just like to thank you for a great mid-week golf break this week.  Both my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed both the tuition and the hospitality from you and your team.  The experience has given me some really positive golf improvement skills to continue to work on, and my wife is already talking about booking our next tuition session and possibly one of your golf trips abroad. I was not expecting to be worked so hard on the tuition sessions, but they certainly paid dividends, especially when I pared the first three holes on my final round.  My wife is already cleaning her clubs with my tea towels in the kitchen to prepare for her next golf game. Many thanks John, hope to see you again soon.

Hi John,
Well I have done it again come second in a fun comp where we just counted the par 3's and 1 hidden hole and today I have just beaten the club champ in the first round of the knockout, on the 14th!!!!!!!!! I have played her in the 1st round for the last 3 or 4 years and she has always beaten me today I whooped her, and boy did that feel good. I think she is thinking about coming to you for lessons!

Hi John - just wanted to say how much Christine and I enjoyed our time with
you - not only was the tuition excellent you also managed to arrange
convivial company and excellent weather.

I cannot now wait to get out on the course to try out the new techniques.  I
did play a match yesterday and at one time was 3 up and then lost it and it
went to a tie break on the 19th when I got into some gorse.  However I flew
out of a very nasty bunker and in all felt much more confident of my game.

John the quickest of notes to say thanks from me and vic. we had an amazing time . now i've retired i can put time in to apply the the great teaching in a way i couldn't in the past. i have played with vic for over two years and have never seen him hit balls like he did after your help. we both played well on the last afternoon but decided to stay relaxed by not keeping a formal card for the competition and what a good decision that was, exemplified by vic's par 4 at the stroke index 1. in fact over the three rounds at north shore, at the same par three, vic hit a 6 iron onto the green on day 1 ( when it would have been a small wood) with the wind in our favour, a 7 iron on day 2 and then ( with no wind assistance) an 8 iron on day 3....two pars and a birdie. my weekly £1 would be at risk if i hadn't had such a boost to my game too. i was thrilled with the improvement in my game especially when i hit 5 fairways in succession with my driver. time to take it gently and work on my game but there's a big friendly "grudge" match against the other two members of our regular fourball at Slaley hall in norhumberland next Friday so it's a bit of "watch this space" !!!!

Thank you very much for all the help & patience you showed us on the Golf School last week. We both thoroughly enjoyed our week, and have come away with plenty of key things to work on.

People thought the course was wonderful – they enjoyed the contrast between the links and parkland. The relished the challenge in the wind, and then enjoyed playing on the Monday in the calm sunshine.

They liked the challenging layout especially with some of the blind holes and the punishing rough. They commented on the great condition of the greens and fairways. The liked the fact the hotel was on course and close to the beach. The hospitality was good and enjoyed the food and felt the whole package was great value. We raised £100 for the Ghurkha trust as well.

They talked of coming back but we have not made any plans yet.

We four ladies came in September 2010 to the Elms for a three-day break of tuition and practice at the North Shore Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thank you for your patience when the going got tough! We were exhausted when we got home but are determined to persevere with your suggestions to improve our game. This was the third year for several of us and we are looking forward to coming back next year (hopefully with a lower handicap!), for you to try to iron out all our golf problems once more. Again, many thanks.

Many thanks for the excellent golf tuition at our group visit on 24th - 26th June.  The 6 of us really enjoyed the 3 days & you managed to balance group tuition with individual instruction in a very effective way. Thank you especially for sorting out my drive off the tee, improving both length of drive & straightening direction so much that, on the 2nd day, I managed an eagle on the 12th hole & par on the 14th & 18th holes.  A very good improvement for a high handicap golfer.  Still can't believe I scored an eagle on a per 4.  Hope to see you again in the near future.

Dear John,

Thanks for a great 3 days at the Golf School last week.  All five of us had a fantastic time & feel that we have really benefitted from all your hard work.  Some of us are still reminding ourselves to be 'under the table', 'out of the phone box' & 'sweep those hands back' !!! You will be pleased to know that the golf has already improved & I am hitting my woods off the fairway, which I wasn't doing before  I came.  I am still excited about my first ever eagle which I had on 6th hole at North Shore on day two.  All this coupled with great accommodation & food at North Shore Hotel made it a fantastic break.  We are already planning next years visit when we will hopefully be coming for four days.  Keep up the good work.
